Welcome, I’m Glad You’re Here

The Space Between Us Workshop

Hey,

Before we dive any deeper into today’s session, I just want to say thank you for showing up. Not just to this training, but to the everyday work of holding stories, holding pain, and holding hope, sometimes all at the same time. The space you make for others is sacred. And I don’t take lightly that you chose to spend part of your day with me.

My name is Danielle L. McDowell, and the heart of my work lives in the intersections, the places where identity, power, faith, trauma, and culture shape the way we show up for one another. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, a supervisor, a facilitator, a storyteller, and a woman who has learned (sometimes the hard way) that healing is collective, layered, and beautifully imperfect.

If you want a deeper glimpse into why I teach this work, I invite you to watch my TEDx Talk below,

“The Messy, Painful, Necessary Work of Collective Healing.”

It’s a love letter to community, accountability, and the truth-telling required for real transformation.

This page also includes resources I’ve created over the years, tools that grew out of real rooms with real people doing the brave work of healing:

  • Adult coloring books that center Black faces, Black joy, and Black rest

  • A self-care guide for the women who give more than they ever let on

  • A children’s faith-based book collection inspired by my own family’s legacy of love, resilience, and spiritual grounding

These aren’t products, they are extensions of the same intention guiding your training today: to help us reconnect with ourselves, our clients, and the deeper “why” behind the work.

As you download the materials, my hope is that you feel supported, seen, and reminded that you’re not doing this alone. The work can be heavy, but it is also holy. And you’ve already proven you can carry it with courage.

Take what you need.

Come back when you need more.

I’m grateful you’re here.

Danielle
